City of Decatur, AL Utilities contracted the construction of a new sewer pump station to replace existing fifty-eight year old infrastructure. This project increased the pumping capacity to eight million gallons per day and features a twenty-three foot deep pump vault.
Included in the scope of work was the building, structural and hoist systems, finish site work, pump, piping and process equipment along with all associated control electronics. A very small working site tucked into a neighborhood presented special challenges, as did a very deep excavation requiring extensive blasting into bedrock.
